to Londontown

Bringing us home again…

Home to self.

July 18 (mantra)

We got up and started gathering things together for our journey to the UK. Sigh. The Ireland leg is over. I am looking forward to discovering new things about myself and a new country, but Ireland holds a special place in my heart and I'm sad to leave it.. must get back again sometime soon.

We rushed to interview Kelly, the woman who runs the bike rental shop. It was a good, but short interview. I could tell she is a woman who has been through a lot and has a tough exterior, but inside, she has a big heart. After a last brekkie and lunch order with the 3 ladies, we caught a bus to the airport. Driving through Dublin one last time, I tried to take it all in.. the colorful pubs, the cathedrals, all of the shops and people.. I can't wait to come back here someday

Heathrow is crazy. We got wooed by the new, fancy Terminal 5 when we first came through here on July 9th, but the rest seems to be crowded, small, stagnant air, old...

Train'd it to Wimbledon where we met HELEN! Hard to type her name without all caps... she's just worthy of 'em. It is so great to see her. Last time was for Misty and Ted's wedding last October. We also got to meet Louie, her beau and their friend, Belinda who's staying with them. instantly got poured a glass of Lisa J's pink champagne the moment we entered her house. :) A welcome relief after such a hectic entrance to the UK. We were all a bit stunned by the pace, the energy of London. We'd all been here before and yet it was a surprise.

That night, Suz and Janice went to meet Victoria for an interview and I spent time with Helen, Louie, Belinda and Mimi. We went to this two-level, adorable Italian place for the biggest pizzas on earth. When they brought them out we all just sat there open-mouthed... holy crap. Helen cracks me up, she cut a big slice, folded it over like a New Yorker and went to town haha. Love her. Later, we ended up at a club with music from my college years... "Everybody Dance Now!" hahaha. A couple glasses of wine and many photos later... got back to the house to check in with Suz and Janice. The interview went well and they got around on the Tube like they knew what they were doing. :)

Tomorrow... Billy Elliott!
